Testimony of Bro. Akash Rajan

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers. (Rom 8:28-29)

Greetings to all in the precious name of our lord and savior JESUS CHRIST.
My name is Akash Rajan. I am writing this letter to tell the world according to Acts 1:8, about the resurrected savior of mankind and how he transformed my life.

Before I begin my testimony I am forced to add a few things due to the hoaxes in the current spiritual field.

1. This is not to mesmerize anyone to grab money or any such material benefits. So please don’t contact to send money for the same.

2. The writer is against the prosperity theology and believes in the establishment of perfect will of God which can’t be measured according to the yardsticks of this world. He also believes that a true follower of Jesus Christ will never pray against the will of God even though the same is not a blessing or good thing according to him. Instead he will wholeheartedly take everything what God gives him irrespective of the consequences.(Mat 20:22, John 18:11)

“Therefore Jesus also, so that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore let us go forth to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come.”

The past

I was born in a non Christian family in Kollam on 07/12/1984. My father and mother are doctors and have served the state government till their retirement. I have only one elder sister who is also a doctor. I did my schooling (9-12th ) in St. Thomas Central School Trivandrum and was one among the top students in both academics as well as extracurricular activities. I have won many prizes in singing, quizzing, sports, mono act e.t.c and was a worldly person always trying to gain more fame and positions in life. I never had any problems in life and had enough money to purchase what I desired. The main difficulties were the allergic asthma and migraine disease which troubled me frequently. By using good medicines I was able to find temporary relief from these problems. After my schooling I got admission to College of Engineering Trivandrum. I joined the Mechanical Engineering stream in 2002. Even though I never used to smoke or drink liquor, I lived a worldly life watching movies, playing computer games and singing film songs. When I was in the fourth semester I decided to join some students party and wanted to become famous by any means. Being a scientific thinker, I never believed in any God (even what my parents believed) and was not at all interested in spiritual things. But this was the “PERFECT TIME OF GOD” which I had never even thought of in my wildest dreams.

The Encounter

In March 2004, I was staying alone in an apartment near Medical College, Trivandrum. In one evening I heard a voice from inside of my heart telling me “Believe in God”. The voice resonated in my heart for many days and kept me thinking of my past, present and future (after death). Being confused, I hid this from my family and decided to search for God according to my traditions. I never had any knowledge of my tradition and therefore decided to ask some learned person regarding this. My search was in vain and I was not able to find a satisfactory answer or peace in my heart. Any way I tried my level best to keep away from the worldly things which according to me were hindrances to spirituality. One day in May, I decided to share this with one of friends who was my schoolmate as well as my college mate. He was a traditional Christian and was not having any personal relation with Jesus. After hearing my experience in short he gave me a Good news Bible and told me a few things about Jesus. He also criticized my tradition which pricked me badly. I left his apartment and kept the Bible with me. After some days, on April 4th 2004, I decided to read the Bible. I read the beginning of the Gospel according to Matthew. While reading about the birth of Jesus Christ, suddenly I felt something becoming very cold within my heart (Heb 4:12). This sensation became more prominent and I felt someone was instructing me to pray to Jesus. Soon the sound which once told me to “Believe in God” again spoke inside my heart to “Kneel down and pray to Jesus”. But a storm of thoughts fired into my heart “Is this the sound of God?” “Is this Jesus real?” “What will I tell my family/friends if I accept Jesus?” “Will I become a Christian?” “What will be my future?”. I started sweating profusely inside the room of the apartment. I never knew about the resurrection of Jesus, the holy spirit, miracles or even the word of God. But I can’t refuse or forget the sound of God’s spirit. Finally I made a decision. Since I got the answer not from any man and Jesus was the only God who was able to satisfy my heart, I will follow him at any cost (Mt 10:37-39). The stage was set.
I knelt down not even knowing what to pray. But from my heart I prayed like this “Jesus I don’t know anything. But I have lot of shortcomings in my life. Forgive me. I want to know you. Today I accept you as my God” (John 16:8). Tear drops ran through my face and I felt so light as if I was floating in air. A divine peace and immense joy filled my heart which was beyond all human understanding (Phil 4:7). I felt a great assurance in my heart and was happy with the strong decision I took in my life. From that day onwards I started reading the Bible and testifying to all the people I knew about the risen savior (Acts 1:8). The first person to accept the same was the Christian friend who gave me the Bible.

Transformations and decisions in life

After I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior, I told to my God “Till this time I used my talents for the world, from this day onwards I will sing only for Jesus”(Rom 6:13). After this life transforming decision Holy spirit bestowed me with the gift to compose songs for the glory of God. Even before two months after my salvation I started composing many songs like Aatmaavin anandham, aanipazhutulla karangalal etc. The song “aatmaavin aanandham” portrays the decisions and the prophetic words which were later fulfilled in my life. The song “Aanipazhutulla karangalal” was based on a heavenly vision which strengthened me to follow Christ and also on his care and everlasting love and assurance. The detailed testimony for each song will be uploaded later.
After spending a lot of time reading the Bible, I wanted to have a deeper experience with Jesus. I wanted to get Baptized in both water and holy Spirit. Even before the water baptism I received baptism in spirit. The experience was truly unforgettable and divine. I felt that my heart was being totally filled with the love of Jesus. Tears ran through my face and I uttered the words that the spirit gave me. After that I felt that I have conquered the entire world and was filled with the strength and courage to do anything for Jesus. Within two months after the experience of salvation, I got baptized in water (immersion) in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit. During the baptism as well as my first holy communion service I was totally strengthened by the might of the spirit. God gave me heavenly visions/dreams and prophecies for my future. I never knew why God was empowering me to such an extent even from the beginning. But later I was convinced that in order to suffer the pains, isolation and tribulations it was a must (2Pet 1:19).
I also experienced the divine healing power of Jesus (1Pet 2:24). The diseases which I have told before were healed completely without anybody’s intercession. When I write this don’t misunderstand that the people of god are free from diseases and sufferings (John 16:33). God healed those things only to teach me that he can deliver and sustain me through any type of tribulations in life.
In the beginning, I proclaimed the message of the Gospel to my family, relatives, college mates and whoever I came in contact with. Initially my family came to faith expecting some physical blessings, but later my parents backslid and rejected Jesus as they were forced by the relatives and the fame of this world (Mt 13:4-7) . My college mates started mocking at me and called many new names like “Achan” “Pope” etc. Later my parents also started criticizing me for going around to testify and preach gospel (Mt 10:34-39). They declared that I will fail in my BTech exams and will never get a job. Even though few mocked me in my college, I prayed to God to change the heart of at least a few. The prayer was answered and I got 3 batch mates who started to support me in prayers.
I never stopped attending local church or working for Jesus in the midst of all these problems. At last God enabled to pass my BTech degree with distinction. More over by God’s grace and the prayers of my spiritual parents and fellow believers, I joined LPSC (V) , Indian Space Research Organization as Scientist/Engineer in November 2006. I worked there for 2 years and then resigned my job. I joined College of Engineering Trivandrum in November, 2008 to do my higher studies (MTech in Machine Design). By God’s grace I qualified GATE Exam.

The trials (In brief: Mt 10)

In between 2008 and 2010, I encountered several problems in my life. My relatives who are influential people in the society decided to bring me back to the old faith at any cost. They devised all sorts of actions ranging from false cases, bullying, terrifying to media and police. I was an active member of a local church in Trivandrum. They tried to close the church and arrest my spiritual guides by using all sorts of fabricated means. The false accusation was that I was being brain washed and made addicted to drugs and as a result was forcefully converted to Christianity in order to grab money. These stories were published through media and magazines. I had never been to police station or court till that time in my life. But by God’s grace I was able to witness the risen savior in police station as well as high court of Kerala. In all these places I stood affirm in faith and never ever feared to tell my testimony with courage (given by the holy spirit). No body found any fault with me or my spiritual guides and were declared innocent by the high court of Kerala/police. Many times these people tried to create a situation to inject some type of drug in my body in order to prove their accusation, but Jesus preserved me and my spiritual guides from all their attempts. My spiritual guides suffered a lot for keeping me in faith like the good shepherd. The most heartbreaking incident was that many believers/friends who coorporated in the prayer publicly rejected and gave false witness against us.
The cases were still coming up like hurricanes. Next my parents fabricated a false case with the help of some people in traffic police station. The aim was to make me depend on them for solving such a case. But by Gods grace the people behind this feared of a counter case and stopped proceeding further.
Later a case was filed against my spiritual guides in the income tax office with the false accusation of gaining illegal money and property. This was also proved wrong when all the written records and accounts were verified.

The CD “Karuthuvaan aarum illenkilum”

The song “Karuthuvaan aarum illenkilum” is the living testimony of my spiritual mother Sis. Lilly Reman. She was the main target of all the false accusations. Each line of the song speaks aloud the situation in which a true believer will have to go through and about the everlasting assurance given by Jesus.
Long back in 2005 when no such plans were in my mind about an audio CD, I received a prophecy that one day the songs which I have composed will be published in audio CD and will wipe the tears and provide divine assurance and strength to many. It took another five years for the fulfillment of the same. But by the grace of the almighty we were able to release the same in April, 2010. The songs of these CD are made available in my YouTube channel.

I am closing this letter with a short message from the word of God.

Dear ones in Christ. Are you ready to bear His reproach and suffer happily for Him?(Heb 13:12-14) If not you will never be used by God in any means (Heb 11:25; 2Tim2:12,1:12,2:3). A true follower of Jesus will never get/go after any worldly fame or luxury(1Jn 2:15). You can be popular and world famous by just compromising a little in front of the devil (Mt 4:9). The path of the cross is not for gaining anything in this world, but willfully losing everything in this world in order to gain eternal glory (2Cor 4:17; Phil 3:7-11). People will never accept to follow Jesus by hearing the testimony of prosperity (Good house, job, Family life etc). They may go with Jesus just like the mob who accompanied him (Jn 6:5,26-66); . But when we read the Bible we see that the mob criticized and left Him when he preached the true requirements of the word of god (Jn 6:66). Please think how people followed Jesus by looking at Paul, Peter, John, Kochukunju Upadeshi, Sadhu Sunder Singh e.t.c. Give your life to Jesus without thinking about the future, for He is the alpha and omega, the one who was, who is and who is to come. He will guard and guide you till your last breath.
